Is dental treatment in Istanbul safe?
It can be, when you choose an authorized clinic, a named and qualified dentist, and a clear written plan. Quality varies widely, which is why we focus on how to check before you commit.
How do I know a clinic is legitimate?
Check its authorization on the Ministry of Health's HealthTürkiye portal, ask for the treating dentist's name and qualifications, and insist on a written, itemized plan before paying anything.
How long will I need to stay?
It depends on the treatment and your case. Veneers and crowns are often planned around one stay; implants usually need two trips, months apart. Your treating dentist should give you the timeline in writing.
What happens if I have a problem after I get home?
Agree before you travel who you contact, what the guarantee covers and who pays for travel or local repairs. Bring your full records pack home so a local dentist can help.
Will my insurance cover any of it?
Often not, but plans differ. Ask your insurer in writing before you travel and request itemized receipts. UK patients: GHIC and EHIC do not apply in Türkiye.
Are you a clinic? How are you paid?
No. We are an independent guide, not a clinic or medical provider, and we do not give medical advice. Today we charge patients nothing and receive no fees from clinics. If that ever changes, we will say so on this page, in plain words, before you decide anything.
